It feels like it’s been eons since we’ve seen the smiles, great vibes and awesome riding of our snowboarding friends at the LBS, and oh how we’ve missed it - and you - all!!! Like the rest of the world, we were hoping that the 2021-22 winter season would be back to normal but, dang, it looks like we will be navigating covid again this season.
So, will there be a Legendary Banked Slalom in 2022? Short answer: yes, we are planning on it. Longer answer: depending on Covid-related conditions and Federal, State and local guidelines and mandates in place next January and February, the event may not look exactly like it has in the past. We are developing multiple plans for different scenarios and will implement them as needed, including the possibility of postponing the race again in the worst case scenario. While the past year+ has driven home for many of us the true value and beauty of experiences like the Banked Slalom - gathering, connecting and celebrating in nature with each other - we must also balance that with the health and safety of our visitors, our crew and our local communities. Our crew’s experience, including things learned from the successful winter season last year, combined with the resilience and efforts of the snowboarding community as well as a promising forecast, bodes well for a great 35th Legendary Banked Slalom!
If you are registering for the LBS, or are planning to come and spectate, check our Race Plan for 2022 page to see what the event would look like under current guidelines and mandates. Check back regularly for updates, and we hope to see you in the start shack in February 2022!
