Race plan for 2022

For our full statement on the 2022 LBS, visit our homepage.

We’ve made some revisions to the race plans to adjust to Covid-related mandates and guidelines. We’ve also made alternative plans to implement if changes in mandates and guidelines happen throughout the season, and will post any updates here if/when that happens.

Under current local, state and Federal guidelines and mandates, this is what the Legendary Banked Slalom would look like:

– The total number of racers will be slightly reduced this year to allow us to adjust a few aspects of the race to current Covid-related mandates and guidelines.
– All racers will be required to comply with ski area and race policies and guidelines, including those related to Covid safety, or they will be disqualified. You can view our Ski Area Covid-19 related operations plans, policies and guidelines here.
– At this time, vaccinations are not required to race in the Legendary Banked Slalom. Facial coverings may be required in some or all areas of the event.

– All racers will be required to sign an online Release Agreement during the online registration process to be officially registered.
– We are adding a Thursday bib & packet pickup option in addition to Friday morning pickup, to help spread out racers and volunteers for distancing.

– Banks as usual! Fast, fun and sweet.
– Same format of qualifying runs on Friday and Saturday, Finals on Sunday.
– Facial coverings required in Start Shack, can be removed as soon as racer leaves Start Shack.

– Hospitality area will be expanded a bit to allow for more distancing
– Racers, event crew and approved sponsors & media ONLY in the Hospitality and Start areas. This will be strictly enforced.
– Facial coverings required in these areas.

At this point we are planning on NOT holding the salmon BBQ. Look for delicious salmon dinner options in the Day Lodges on Saturday, and smoked salmon in the Racer Hospitality area.

If the weather allows: location will be outside the White Salmon Lodge, slopeside. Facial coverings required.
If the weather is really, really crappy: inside the White Salmon Lodge, attendance limited to racers and 1 friend/family member. Facial coverings required.
