RACE COURSE

New this year; the course will be located in the Natural Halfpipe! It is a timed, banked GS course, with alternating blue and red gates that racers must pass between. Due to the development of some large and persistent hard-packed moguls in the very upper section of the course, the start will be located about 200 ft downhill from the top of the Natural Halfpipe. This only cuts out about the first 5 gates of the regular course, so don’t worry you’ll still have plenty of banks to hit!
Racers will access the start area and start shack on Diehl’s.

RACER CHECK-IN and BIB PICKUP

– All racers check in at the start area (on Diehl’s, just below the top of Chair 5) between 9:15 – 9:45 on your race day. DO NOT check in or attempt to inspect the course on the day your category is NOT racing.
– You must show ID (Baker season pass, a driver’s license or a passport . . . minor’s 15 & under must have a parent/guardian show ID) to get your race bib in the start area.
– You MUST have signed the online Release Agreement before you will be allowed to get your bib and inspect the course. If you have not signed the online release before you check in, you will need to find a device with an internet connection to sign the online release agreement. There is no guarantee that cell service or WiFi will work at the mountain.
– You must attach your race bib BEFORE you will be allowed to inspect the course.
– All racers must complete at least one course inspection in order to be eligible to race.

COURSE INSPECTION

– All racers must complete one course inspection in order to be eligible to race.
– Course inspection is at LOW SPEED, with NO LINKED TURNS. If you run any of the course at full speed during course inspection you may be disqualified. There are multiple racers on course at the same time during inspection, so be courteous and give other racers plenty of room!
– Next Gen racers must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when inspecting the course

NOTE

A current Mt. Baker season pass or day lift ticket is required to race. There will be no discounts on lift tickets.

CATEGORY START TIMES

– Categories will run in groups, with each group completing their first run and then immediately going back up to the start area to do their second run. Racers will run alphabetically by last name within their category.
Every racer MUST sign the online release agreement AND complete an inspection of the course in order to be eligible to race.

Check the race info board at the start area for info about the day’s schedule and for official start times for each division. Categories may start later than the times posted on the board at the start shack, but not earlier. Therefore, you can “safely” go ride until your posted category start time without worrying about missing your run. Any changes or updates will be posted at the top of the course. If no start times are posted it’s because we are still figuring it out, and our suggestion is to hang out and wait until your division is posted.

– We run 2 to 3 racers on the course at a time, so DON’T BE LATE FOR YOUR RUN or it holds up the show and there WILL be a penalty. Including, but not limited to possible disqualification for that run.
