Freelance artist Evan Whitehead, born in 1981, is native to Bellingham, growing up in the foothills of Whatcom County and the North Cascade Range. He attended local schools and Whatcom Community College while working at Mt. Baker Ski Area in his early years, calling Mt. Baker his ‘backyard’ of natural beauty and internal inspiration. Growing up with adventurism and wonder, his forever meanderings include the mountain for his escape and backdrop into the outdoors.
Focusing on the natural presence of the mountain’s beauty and individualism, Evan defines this subject matter in a variety of ways, represented by the familiar landscape in acrylic on a variety of displays: canvas, rock, wood, walls, murals, and fences.
A natural explorer and avid snowboarder and hiker, his love of the Baker scenery and artistry is represented in a variety of light and authentic clarity. Evan utilizes the resources of the local mountains singular beauty and originality to create visual art for many to eternally enjoy.
Mt. Baker and its surrounding wilderness remains the icon of inspiration and individual freedom represented visually... The volcanoes will remain lord of the landscape.
